Two people stand on a pebbled beach facing the sea, arms raised together to form a heart shape—capturing a Vita moment of forever friends under a cloudy sky, with a pier stretching into the water behind them.

Warm lighting helps. A comfy bed is pretty key. But it’s the people that truly make a place feel like home.

Just look at our two of our residents living in Vita Student Copper Towers.

When Swarna and Khushi first moved from India to the UK, they had no idea they were going to meet.

And that’s the beauty of Vita Student.

Our spaces see thousands of meaningful friendships take form, every single year. Because when you’re given the space to grow connections on your own terms, you’ll meet the people who’ll stay in your life forever.

Here’s the heart-warming story of how Swarna and Khushi found each other, and how their friendship has turned out to be one of the best parts of their university experience.

Two people stand together in front of a bathroom mirror, smiling. Sharing their Student Stories, one wears stripes while the other, in blue with glasses, snaps the photo—capturing the spirit of Forever Friends.

Finding connection in Coventry

Sometimes, the strongest friendships can come from unlikely places. All it takes is a little icebreaking, and putting yourself out there.

“We first initially met in a WhatsApp group,” Swarna tells us. “I took her [Khushi] number from the Vita Student group and then I messaged her randomly.”

“I messaged back, and we got to know that we’re from the same course.” Khushi adds. “We were very excited!”

Our open Hub spaces at Vita Student Copper Towers made it easy for the girls to hang out and get to know each other. Soon, it began to feel like their friendship was fate.

“I’m from the southern part of India, Chennai.” Swarna says.

“And I’m from Delhi, the northern part of India.” Khushi adds. “I’ve never had Southern friends. This is something I manifested in my life, and I got it here in the UK.”

Two women smiling—one in sunglasses and a white shirt, the other in a striped top—sit before a wall of purple, pink, and white flowers, capturing a Vita moment of Forever Friends.

Living at Vita Student means being part of a global student community, where every culture is shared and celebrated. Every day is an opportunity to meet a friendly face from a different place.

For Swarna and Khushi, this open environment made finding each other easy.

“We are learning each other’s languages, getting to know each other, the different cultures, everything.”

How Vita brought us together

We know that moving into a new place, let alone an entirely different country, can be daunting.

It’s why here at Vita Student, our spaces are thoughtfully designed to make socialising feel natural. Not forced.

“Vita Student helped us settle in really quickly,” Khushi agrees. “We have regular weekly events and the great Hub spaces downstairs.”

“This is the only place where every friend we have over wants to stay here. It’s the only place that has such a good space where everyone comes.”

Two smiling South Asian women in traditional attire pose for a selfie outdoors, capturing their forever friends moment—one in metallic embroidery, the other in glasses and a floral outfit with a banana.

From private dining rooms and comfortable couches, to the 24/7 gym, cinema room and more, there are so many hangout spots to choose from.

And that’s just our shared spaces. Our private ensuite studios are the perfect spot for movie nights, face mask Fridays, and cosy nights in.

“The best decision we’ve taken after coming to the UK is choosing Vita Student.” Swarna contends. “We’ve never regretted our decision to take this accommodation.”

Swarna and Khushi’s story is just one of many. Watch our video to hear about the rest of it.
