Vita Student is more than just a place to stay. It’s a place where you belong.
Our international students come from across the world, each bringing their own traditions, stories, and ways of celebrating. What makes Vita Student different is how naturally these cultures become part of everyday life. Not as one-off events, but as moments that shape the rhythm of the year.
Because when you’re living away from home, those familiar traditions and the chance to discover new ones matter more than ever. It’s not just about where you live. It’s about whether it feels like home.
Cultural celebrations at Vita Student
Throughout the year, our student accommodation buildings quietly transform to reflect the people who live in them.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, mooncakes appear at receptions and in shared spaces. For some, they carry a sense of familiarity. For others, they’re something entirely new. Either way, they become a conversation, a shared experience, and a small reminder of togetherness.
When Diwali arrives, the atmosphere shifts. Decorations, light, and energy fill the building, creating a warmth that extends far beyond the physical space. Residents gather, take it in, and celebrate in their own way, whether they have grown up with the festival or are experiencing it for the first time.
At Christmas, the gestures are simple but intentional. Candy canes, festive touches, and small moments that make the season feel present, even when you are far from home.

Student events and cultural experiences
Some of our events are about getting hands-on and truly engaging with different cultures.

For Chinese New Year, it is not just about decoration. Residents take part in calligraphy workshops, learning the meaning behind each stroke and creating something of their own. It becomes less about observing a tradition and more about understanding it.

Red envelopes placed around the building add an element of surprise. A small detail, but one that carries meaning — a gesture of luck, prosperity, and shared celebration.
A global student community
Some celebrations naturally centre around togetherness, and you can feel that most during Eid.
From thoughtfully curated decorations to shared food experiences like grazing tables, these are moments where residents slow down and come together. Conversations flow more easily, and people stay longer. What starts as a celebration often becomes a memory tied to the people around you.

Space to create and unwind
There are also quieter moments woven into the year.
Around Easter, wreath-making sessions bring a different kind of energy into the building. Residents spend time creating, talking, and simply being present. It’s relaxed, unforced, and just as important as the bigger celebrations.

Be part of it
What all of this creates is something you can’t replicate with facilities alone.
It is in the shared experiences. The unexpected introductions to new cultures. The comfort of seeing your own traditions recognised. The ease of feeling included without needing to ask.
At Vita Student, home is not defined by where you come from. It’s shaped by how you live while you are here. It’s a place that celebrates where you’re from.
And that is what turns a building into a community.
