Here at Vita Student, it’s our ten year anniversary after opening up our first location in Liverpool. It has always been our mission to help our students achieve their ambitions. This year, we’re taking it one step further and fuelling their ambitions with 10 life-changing competition prizes.

From being in with the chance to win a year’s free rent, a once-in-a-lifetime trip around the world or even attending a global conference of your choice to kickstart your career. We have it all. All you have to do? Be a part of Vita Student.

Let’s take a look at our current winners.

november

Our first winner, @leeds_guide secured the tech bundle through our random name generator after liking our post on Instagram and tagging a friend in the comments. Our content team travelled up to Vita Portland Crescent in Leeds, where she has called home for the past year, to hand-deliver the prize. We hope the tech bundle proves to be an invaluable asset, enhancing not only her University studies but also contributing to the growth of her Leeds Guide Instagram blog.

The allure of relaxation enticed @hotelcharliet into entering our second competition to win the La Mer & La Prairie Wellness package. She correctly answered our multiple choice question on our Instagram post and was chosen from our random name generator to secure the prize. She has been a resident with us for the past two years, and our content team made a visit to Vita Liverpool to hand over her prize, which you can tell she was extremely happy with!

Our most recent winner, Xian Sun, entered our competition to attend a conference of their choice. She has been a resident at Vita Lewisham for the past three years, and she submitted an incredible entry to attend the 9th European Congress on 3D printing & Additive Manufacturing. Our panel of judges believed that her entry ticked all of the boxes in what they were looking for. From the relevancy of why she wanted to attend the conference, the networking prospects, and how it will advance her career in the industry. Xian’s career goals are to develop innovative medical devices using 3D printing techniques in the healthcare field.  It truly was a submission that goes beyond ambition. We are very excited to send her here in October and hope that it will advance her into her future career.

February

Now it was time for the most popular competition so far, we were giving away the ultimate adventure: two around-the-world travel tickets for one lucky person and their friend. All they had to do was describe why their friend deserved to go. All entries were judged by our independent panel and Dhiya Kandhai was announced our winner. The residence team at Iona Street managed to keep it a secret whilst we organised a huge boarding pass to be handed over to her at a weekend wind down event. You can check out her reaction over on our Instagram. We can’t wait to see all of the photos and clips she shares of her once in a lifetime trip!

MARCH

To celebrate our tenth birthday, our latest competition gave someone the chance to win a year’s free rent at Vita Student Liverpool, which was our first building to open 10 years ago. Since opening, thousands of students have made Vita Student Liverpool their home – so we wanted to give one lucky person the chance to be part of it, for free. The entry mechanics were simple, we just wanted to know ‘what lives rent free in your head?’. This encouraged comments such as ‘falling down the stairs after my night out’, ‘kaspas downstairs’ and ‘croissants’. Our random generator picked out our lucky winner, Ella Stevenson. She has been living with us in Liverpool for the past two years, and had already rebooked for next year to secure her spot. We hope the free rent allows her to invest in her passions and supports her in her last year of University.

APRIL

While succeeding in exams or starting your dream career can feel like the most important thing during your studies, looking after your body and mind is equally important. That’s why for April’s Beyond Ambition prize, we gave away a place on a luxury 7-day yoga and wellness retreat in the beautiful Algarve in Portugal. To enter the competition, we asked our students to share what their favourite thing is to do for their wellbeing. We loved reading the variety of answers and hope that it inspired others to think about their own wellness. Our random generator picked out @svsklaaa_ to be whisked away on this luxury retreat, with flights, food and accommodation all covered by us. We hope this is the perfect reset to help her recharge before another year of studying.

MAY

Having a university room that feels like home is an important aspect of your student experience. For this month’s competition prize, we gave one lucky winner the chance to style their room to their dream aesthetic, with guidance from our expert interior design team and a £3000 budget. To take part in this competition, we asked our students to submit a moodboard demonstrating their ideal room. All entries were judged by an independent panel, as well as the interior designers that will help bring the moodboard to life. The winner, Jessica Goffey, stood out to all judges as they believed she had a strong eye for theme and interior design. Her mood board showed that time and effort had been put into it, and the collection of images showed a strong look and feel with a great sense of scale. We will be documenting the process over on our socials, so make sure you follow us.

What’s next? The chance to work with one of the UK’s top music directors, KC Locke and Swords & Eagles. Keep an eye on this blog where we will continue to update it with all of the winners.
