If you’re hiring a car to travel from the airport to our accommodation, the journey typically takes around 15–20 minutes. However, this may vary depending on traffic conditions.

Getting there via the A30 and B3183

Approximate distance: 4.7 miles

The fastest and most direct route avoids motorways and takes you via the A30 and B3183. These roads offer a semi-scenic route through greenery before you reach Exeter city centre.

Fuel costs will depend on your car, fuel type and current prices, but as a rough guide, this journey could cost as little as 59p. Price correct as of April 2024.

Please note: There is no on-site parking at this building. However, the accommodation is centrally located with nearby parking options, including the John Lewis car park just a short walk away.

How to get to Vita Student Portland House by taxi or Uber

If you’d prefer to take a taxi, there are plenty of options available from Exeter Airport, including private hire companies and Uber.

Useful info

Apple Taxis Exeter is the only official airport-authorised private hire taxi company.

It operates from the taxi desk in the Arrivals building. Journeys must be pre-booked by phone (01392 666 666) or arranged in person at the airport.

Other taxi companies cannot use the Arrivals taxi rank, but they can pick you up from Car Park 1.

Using Uber

Depending on the time of day and vehicle type, an Uber to Portland House typically costs between £15 and £22.

How to get to Vita Student Portland House by train

There is no train station at Exeter Airport. The nearest station is Cranbrook, which is around a five-minute taxi ride away.

From Cranbrook, it’s around a nine-minute journey (two stops) to Exeter Central. From there, Portland House is a 10-minute walk.

How to get to Vita Student Portland House by bus

Travelling by bus is simple. Take the 4A bus from Exeter Airport to the city centre. The journey takes around 30 minutes, and Paris Street is just five stops away, right next to our accommodation.

Getting here from Exeter Airport is straightforward, and we’re excited to welcome you to Exeter.
